Hello My Fellow Mommies!
Chances are, if you have stumbled across my humble blog, you are a millennial that is either pregnant, thinking about becoming pregnant, or maybe you already have behbeh's!
Maybe you're not a millennial at all, and that's cool too. All are welcome here! There is no judgement, just as I hope you will not judge me for my nerdy weirdness or my spelling errors. WELCOME! I'm glad you're here.
My name is Kat and I am a first time mom.
I'm starting this blog so that I can share this crazy new adventure I'm on with you. As I head towards the finish line (36 weeks what uuupp!!) I've come to realize how many of my young friends are starting to announce they are having babies. It would seem they are as lost as I was starting out.
My hope is to shed some light on the experiences I've had so far while the little muffin has been baking, and maybe we can share some of the craziness that we will endure once our little bundles of awesome get here.
A Little Bit About Me:
I am a 27 year old graphic designer and have been designing for the passed 12 years.
My husband is 3 years older than me and is a union carpenter.
I'm the daughter of a divorcee and was raised in a not so healthy environment with a not to stable "father figure" and moved out at 18 where I met my now husband.
I'm a big sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a niece. My family is my world.
Coffee is my vice.
I'm a long time suffer of anxiety, depression and PTSD
My husband broke his leg and was out of work for 6 months while I was still attending college. I landed an amazing job right after I graduated and have been there ever since.
We built a brand new house in Illinois in the middle of some cornfields and I kind of hate all of my neighbors. Mostly. Like 80% of the ones I've met.
We are having our very first baby, and we are super stoked!
My husband and I are #nerdparents we love all things geeky. From video games, board games, cosplay, medieval sword fighting, reading, anime, comics, manga, etc. We love it all.
I'm a Hufflepuff and proud.
We never traveled while I was growing up, so I haven't been anywhere! I'm dying to experience new places and document my little Hobblet family visiting them.
All of this at the ripe old age of 27. It's a lot, right?
I've been very blessed for all of the ups and downs my life has had. With baby (we've been calling her peaches) on the way, I want to share my experiences. There was so much information that I was missing starting out and I didn't know where to begin.
Not to mention the relentless droves of advice and countless nights of internet research were overwhelming. My goal is to cover different topics in hopes that it will help relieve some of that anxiousness, because I promise you are not alone!
Let Me Tell You:
Baby brain is a thing, you will wake up in the middle of the night with the most excruciating leg pain you'be ever had in your life and you will get scared. You will love that little nugget in your belly even without seeing them. And above all I want you to know: you're never alone.
I will post frequently with different stories and experiences, as well as a comic I've created called, "Caring for your Preggasaurus."
Please feel free to leave any suggestions, comments, questions, or just say hello! I'm always happy to make new friends. Again, welcome. I look forward to posting and connecting with some great new mamas!
